3 tips for spring cleaning

Here are some easy DIY homemade formulas for spring cleaning and one of my favorite blend of essential oils I love to use:

Citrus peel vinegar

  • citrus peel (grapefruit, lemon, orange peel, or any other citrus peel you have on hand) to half-fill a jar you using
  • distilled white vinegar

Cut the citrus peel, so they fit your glass jar. Fill the jar with vinegar and close with a plastic lid or use parchment paper underneath a metal lid (vinegar eats metal). Let the jar sit at room temperature, out of direct sunlight, for about 2 weeks, shaking it every few days.

Strain the vinegar into a clean jar and label it. Combine 1 part of citrus vinegar with 1 part of water in a spray bottle. Use to disinfect, deodorize, and degrease countertops, floors, windows, and more. Please do not use it on porous surfaces like marble, stone, and hardwood.

This recipe is from the book Wild Remedies from Emily Han and Rosalee de la Forêt
