- Fire Cider
I use this miracle as to enhance the digestive and circulatory system, as a prevention for colds or as a support my immune system. The Fire Cider is also very helpful if you feel weak during these cold days – it has a lot of power in it, you’ll see 🙂
For making fire cider you’ll need:
- 1/3 cup of garlic (about 10 cloves), chopped
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup of horseradish root, grated
- 1/2 part ginger, grated
- 2 teaspoon turmeric, fresh or powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne powder (more or less, just how you like it)
- organic apple cider vinegar
- honey for taste
Prepare all of the roots and spices (I prefer organic options) and place them into a quart (1 liter) sized jar. Fill the jar with the apple cider vinegar to the top and cover with a plastic lid (if you don’t have one, just use a metal lid and put a piece of baking paper under the lid, so that vinegar doesn’t touch the metal). Shake well. Keep your jar in a dark place at a room temperature and shake daily.
After 4-6 weeks, use a cheesecloth to strain out the liquid from the pulp and pour the vinegar into a clean jar. Then add honey to taste (about 1/4 cup) and stir. Keep the fire cider in a cool place and use it daily as needed – about a tablespoon’s dose will do.
I also using the pulp from the fire cider in my kitchen (because there is still a lot of flavors and vitamins). You can be creative with it and make chutney, marinade, salad dressing or just eat it raw (but be aware of your breath if you eat it directly :)).
