April 22nd – Earth Day!
I’m celebrating with made a simple, cheap and nature-friendly homemade dish soap, which you can make yourself!
1 3/4 cups boiling water
1 Tbsp borax
1 teaspoon washing soda
1 Tbsp grated castile bar soap or olive soap
15-20 drops essential oil (lavender, orange, lemon, lime or rosemary)
1. Heat water to boil
2. Combine borax, washing soda and grated soap in a medium bowl. Pour hot water over the mixture. Whisk until the grated soap is completely melted.
3. Allow mixture to cool on the countertop for 6-8 hours, stirring occasionally. Dish soap will gel upon standing.
4. Transfer to a bottle and add essential oil. Shake well to combine. Make a label. Enjoy washing the dishes! 🙂
